SOVAM

In an interview with IASEA, SOVAM shares its approaches on how to help the aviation industry reach its net-zero goal. The company also discusses how it has assisted airports in reducing their carbon footprint. Get more information from their interview below.

Q: What is SOVAM’s decarbonisation strategy to reduce its carbon footprint as the aviation industry takes on the path to making net zero possible?

Sovam has two approaches :

  • Extending our range with electrical vehicles as we already do on maintenance platforms.

  • Offering electrical retrofits on older vehicles. This leads us to upcycle our vehicles instead of manufacturing new ones, which is better for the planet (circular economy) and for our customers (cheaper cost).

Q: What are some of the projects that SOVAM has completed in Asia and has planned for in 2023? What role does SOVAM play to help airports in Asia accelerate their strategy to reduce carbon footprint?

Sovam has been active in this region in the 2010s, selling tractors in Cambodia and Indonesia, passenger stairs in Vietnam, or more recently, maintenance platforms in Singapore. We believe that our products, particularly our maintenance platforms, could be very appealing to Southeast Asian MRO companies. More globally, Sovam tries to extend its business in India and North-East Asia.
