Where AI Meets Airport Innovation

As Asia-Pacific leads global aviation growth, airports are under increasing pressure to manage greater traffic volumes, operational complexity, workforce constraints, and resilience — without compromising safety or sustainability.

Technology is rapidly changing how the airside responds. Airports are moving towards a future where data and intelligent technologies enable faster, more informed decisions.

Bringing together airport operators, airlines, ground handlers, technology providers, and the entire airport community, AI in Motion @ IASEA creates an environment where partnerships are formed, investment is unlocked and the future of AI-powered airport operations takes shape.

Airports are Investing in AI.
See What's Changing in Airport Operations

  • Changi Airport deployed fully driverless baggage tractors in live airside operations in January 2026, following more than 5,000 test trips. Its fleet is planned to expand to 24 autonomous tractors by 2027, alongside wider use of AI, automation and robotics to improve manpower productivity.

  • Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) introduced an AI-powered Smart Airside Safety System in May 2026, combining computer vision, intelligent automation and centralised control to improve safety and operational visibility where aircraft and ground vehicles intersect.

  • Incheon International Airport’s Vision 2040 places AI at the heart of its next phase of transformation — managing everything from predictive flight operations and passenger flow management to ambitious sustainability targets. The strategy goes beyond digitalisation, positioning the airport as a hub for R&D, innovation, and the real-world deployment of next-generation technologies.
